Who We Are

The Esther Community was set up in 1999

The Esther Community consists of a number of highly trained and dedicated staff. We provide a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness. Our objective is to be the first step on the journey to securing and maintaining permanent accommodation. Working within a multi-agency framework we ensure that the best and most suitable support is available to those who access our accommodation.

Our philosophy is person centred and therefore promotes and employs the Recovery Model. The Recovery Model values each individual rather than advocating a ‘one size fits all’ policy.  In order to realise this we utilise Person Centred Planning. This means working with each young person in a way that respects their particular needs and experiences in order to establish the best way in which we can support them.

Part of our person centred planning is to engage with the use of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound) goals. This ensures that each individual who comes into the project is given the best possible chance to move on successfully.
